Ericka Asmus, MSHS Senior and Cross Country/Nordic Skiing/Track & Field student-athlete, was selected as one of 24 “Girls – Class A” finalists from around the state. From this highly accomplished field of female student-athletes, six (6) will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the MHSAA and Farm Bureau Insurance.
For 31 years, the MHSAA and Farm Bureau Insurance have honored the best student-athletes in Michigan. Again this year they will award 32 students with $1,000 scholarships based on achievement and leadership in athletics and activities, as well as responses to short-answer and essay questions. In many ways, this is the most prestigious honor the MHSAA awards annually.
Asmus is a four-year participant in both the Cross Country and Nordic Skiing programs and has also participated in the Girls Track & Field program for one-year.

Track Coaches Association Honor Award Recipient
Academically, Asmus owns a 4.23 cumulative GPA. Outside of her athletics particpation, Ericka has additional extra-curricular involvement in the Environmental Club, Math Club and National Honor Society. She also volunteers time with the Seeds and Spores Family Farm and Marquette Farmer’s Market.
The 32 total recipients of the MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award will be announced throughout February.
