MHSAA Division 2 District Semifinal – Marquette 3, Alpena 0
On Tuesday evening, the MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team competed in the program’s first MHSAA postseason contest in over 15 years when they hosted Alpena in MHSAA Division 2 District Semifinal action from the Kaufman Sports Complex.
Marquette took a 1-0 advantage into halftime after Finn Stiles found the back of the net off of a Dixon Poggi corner kick.
MSHS came out of the break to control play for much of the second half. Kaleb Chipelewski then broke the game open with a pair of goals that came from passes provided by Ben Wilson and Charlie Hrodey.
Marquette goalkeeper Edan Hautamaki faced 2 shots in the first half and 1 in the second half to earn the shutout.
