Varsity Boys Soccer Defeated By Iron Mountain, 1-0

The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to Iron Mountain on Tuesday, 9/21/21, for a boys soccer match with the host Mountaineers.  After a scoreless first half, Iron Mountain scored from a throw in and claimed a 1-0 win.

Harrison Anthos tended net for Marquette making two first half saves and one in the second half.

The loss is Marquette’s first in 29 games dating back to 2019.

From MSHS Head Coach, Dan Salmon:

  • “We controlled the ball well and had many chances but Iron Mountain had a solid game plan to beat us.”

  • The Varsity Boys Soccer team will return home tomorrow (Thursday, September 23) for “Senior Night” when they host Kingsford for a 5:30 p.m. contest.  Prior to the game, the 14 members of the Class of 2022 within the MSHS Boys Soccer Program will be honored along with their parents and guardians.
