MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer (3-3)
Marquette 1, Kingsford 3
The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to Kingsford today (9/5/23) for a game with the host Flivvers. The match-up was the first between the two teams this season.
- First Half: Kingsford open the scoring in the contest when they took a 1-0 lead off of a converted penalty kick. Marquette’s Kaleb Chipelewski then brought MSHS level with a goal scored from an Ethan Sandstrom pass. Keeper Edan Hautamaki made six saves in the first half to help keep things knotted at 1-1.
- Second Half: In the second half, Kingsford retook the lead for good when they made good on their second penalty kick of the game. The Flivvers added another goal late for the 3-1 final margin. Edan Hautamaki made five saves in the second half for a game total of 11 stops.
