Varsity Boys Soccer Falls To Traverse City West, 4-0

The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team team hosted Traverse City West on Saturday (8/20/22) for a game played at the Kaufman Sports Complex.

Marquette’s defense was under heavy pressure from the opening kickoff.  Traverse City West 14 total shots on goal in the first half against MSHS goalkeeper Edan Hautamaki with four finding the back of the net for a 4-0 Trojan lead at halftime.

While Traverse City West continued their onslaught of shots in the second half, the MSHS defense held strong by not allowing the 4-0 final margin to widen.

Hautamaki saw 13 additional shots in the second half to make 23 total saves in the contest.

Next Up:

  • The Varsity Boys Soccer team will be back at home on Tuesday, August 23, when they host Boyne City.  Two total games will be played on the day with a JV/Reserve contest being played at 3:00 p.m., and a Varsity contest to follow at 5:00 p.m.
