The MSHS Varsity Girls Soccer Team (2-0) hosted Marinette on a chilly but dry Thursday evening (April 21).

While the contest was tied at halftime, Marquette held decisive leads in both time of possession and shots on goal.  It wasn’t until the 72nd-minute, when junior Adyson Goodney broke through on a run and buried a shot into the back of the net for the game winning goal.

Sophomore Lily Eberhard earned the shutout in goal for MSHS.

Next Up:

• Both levels of the MSHS Girls Soccer program will head downstate this weekend (April 22-23).  On Friday, the Varsity team will play at Traverse City-St. Francis (5:00 p.m.) with the JV team playing at Gaylord (6:00 p.m.).
• A  doubleheader will then be played at Traverse City West on Saturday (11:45 a.m. Varsity; JV to follow).
