Varsity Volleyball Falls To Kingsford In Tough Five Set Battle, 3-2

Varsity Volleyball (10-6-1; 1-1 Great Northern Conference)

Marquette 2, Kingsford 3 (21-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-13, 14-16)

From Coach Crandell-Williams:

“That was a really fun match, outside of the part where we lost! Kingsford has a very strong group of players and they brought it tonight. I was happy with our defensive intensity overall, and their ability to mentally push through the ups and downs of the match. I think our team still continues to get a bit tight at critical times, and we need to keep improving at taking big swings in big moments and smart but tough swings when we’re out of system. That comes with experience, and Kingsford has a bit more of that on their side. Learning from loss is a part of the growth process, and we’re going to continue working at our game and are excited to face them later in the season.”

Subvarsity Scores:

  • Junior Varsity:  Marquette 0, Kingsford 2
  • Freshman: Marquette 0, Kingsford 2
