Varsity Volleyball Finishes as Runner-Up at Leland Invitational

10/26/19 – Leland Invitational (Leland, MI)

Pool Play:

  • Marquette 2, Central Lake 0 (25-10, 25-9)
  • Marquette 2, Maple City-Glen Lake 0 (25-10, 25-11)
  • Marquette 1, Leland 2 (23-25, 25-19, 13-15)
  • Marquette 2, TC West JV 0 (25-9, 25-15)

Semifinals:

  • Marquette 2, Manistique 0 (25-13, 27-25)

Finals:

  • Marquette 0, Leland 2 (14-25, 20-25)

From Coach Crandell-Williams:

“It was a good day overall. The girls served consistently and put up tough swings all day. As far as the losses, we passed well below our usual average and we just didn’t pull through defensively during the big games. Leland is ranked in the state in their division and they play very disciplined volleyball. I’m proud of our girls.”

Next Up:

All three MSHS volleyball teams will be back in action to finish out the regular season on Tuesday, October 29, when they travel to Escanaba.  Match times are 5:30 p.m. for Frosh/JV and 7:00 p.m. for Varsity.
