From Coach Crandell-Williams:

“The girls had an excellent day and I’m insanely proud of them. The best part is now they know what they are capable of.  They were right in the mix with the big dogs all day and people were talking about “that team from the UP.” A team highlight was our split with reigning Division III state champs, Bronson, in the first set of pool play. The defeat of Carleton Airport in the quarterfinals was also a great moment, as that match was tight the entire time and the girls really had to hang on and push through mentally.

Seiler had a phenomenal day as usual; she is just as great of a serve receive passer and defensive player as she is a hitter. But the day really goes to our middles, Aspen Michelin and Maria Millado. We knew once they started getting comfortable in that middle position that they were going to dominate, and they completely took over the game in moments where we really needed them. Maria had a tremendous day in the back row as well. Maiya King ran a great offense and was the team’s mental leader, as usual. We are getting back to work on Monday with a long list of things to continue to work on and a lot of fire in our bellies. We hope this season gets better and better as we continue to improve.”
