Girls Track & Field Honors 10 Seniors During Triangular Meet With Ironwood and North Central

On Wednesday (5/10/23), the MSHS Girls Track & Field Team hosted a make-up meet after the 5/2/23 meet was postponed.  Ironwood and Powers North Central made the trip over on short notice to help make the meet a triangular meet geared towards maximizing opportunities for competing student-athletes.

Event Winners:

  • 3200 Meter Relay – Elisa Malherbe, Ella Fure, Maija Maki-Warne, Monet Argeropoulos (Marquette; 11:15.35)
  • 100 Meter Hurdles – Siena Lingle (Marquette; 18.00)
  • 100 Meter Dash – Julia Ott (Marquette; 13.38)
  • 800 Meter Relay – Siena Lingle, Meghan MacPhee, Sophie Skytta, Bella Coleman (Marquette; 1:55.69)
  • 1600 Meter Run – Abigail Harma (Marquette; 5:39.81)
  • 400 Meter Relay – Hailey Bolf, Bella Coleman, Sophie Skytta, Julia Ott (Marquette; 54.77)
  • 400 Meter Dash – Elisa Malherbe (Marquette; 1:04.85)
  • 300 Meter Hurdles – Siena Lingle (Marquette; 50.35)
  • 800 Meter Run – Elisa Malherbe (Marquette; 2:46.05)
  • 200 Meter Dash – Julia Ott (Marquette; 27.35)
  • 3200 Meter Run – Abigail Harma (Marquette; 12:17.19)
  • 1600 Meter Relay – Elisa Malherbe, Aubree Blackburn, Maija Maki-Warne, Claire Maskart (Marquette; 4:42.11)
  • Pole Vault – Gracie Kleikamp (Powers North Central; 6’06”)
  • Long Jump – Siena Lingle (Marquette; 15’04.5″)
  • High Jump – Julia Ott (Marquette; 5’00”)
  • Discus Throw – Cora Anderson (Marquette; 87’00”)
  • Shot Put – Meghan MacPhee (Marquette; 32’02”)

Prior to Wednesday’s meet, 10 graduating seniors within the MSHS Girls Track & Field program were recognized along with their parents/guardians.  Congratulations to these track & field seniors and the success that they have achieved while competing for MSHS!

Next Up:

The team will next be in action on Friday, May 11, when they travel to Negaunee to participate at the 2023 Negaunee Lions Invitational Track Meet.  Field events will begin at 3:00 p.m. with running events starting at 3:30 p.m.
