Varsity Boys Soccer Gets 3-0 Win Over Kingsford On Senior Night

Varsity Boys Soccer (15-1)

Marquette 3, Kingsford 0

The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team hosted the Kingsford Flivvers on Thursday night at the Kaufman Sports Complex.  Prior to the game, 14 seniors were honored for their contributions to the program along with their parents/guardians.

After a scoreless first half, Max Dawson continued his scoring prowess by completing a hat trick. The three goals gives Dawson 27 tallies on the season and they were enough to secure a 3-0 win.

Axel Vermaat provided assists two of the goals while goalkeeper Harrison Anthos assisted the other.  Anthos faced three shots in net in the first half and six in the second half for nine total stops in the game.

From MSHS Head Coach, Dan Salmon:

  • “It has been a rough week with kids out for various reasons. Although some players are still out, we were able to regroup and get back in the win column. Ayden Beaudry and Zane Phillips really held their own on defense.”

Senior Shoutout:

Thursday’s game marked the last regular season home game for 14 members of the Class of 2022.  Congratulations to these soccer student-athletes and the success that they have achieved while playing for MSHS!
