Varsity Boys Soccer Takes Down Kingsford, 6-3

MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer (15-2-1)

Marquette 6, Kingsford 3

The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to Kingsford on Thursday, 9/22/22.

Kingsford got on the board first just three minutes into the game to grab an early 1-0 lead.

Marquette then rattled off five unanswered goals en route to a 5-1 halftime advantage. Max Dawson first tied the game for MSHS with a goal assisted by Ezra Pickard.

Pickard then scored the next three goals with assists coming from Henry Wood, Dawson and Kaleb Chipelewski, and then Dawson again.

Dixon Poggi finished the first half scoring on an unassisted corner kick goal.

Kingsford made the score 5-2 early in the second half before Ethan Sandstrom put in the sixth goal for Marquette off an Evan Sysko assist.

Kingsford scored one last goal with 10 minutes to go for a final score of 6-3.

  • The Varsity Boys Soccer team will travel downstate this weekend for the Huron Shores Invitational hosted by Alpena High School on Saturday, September 24.  MSHS will first take on Traverse City Christian at 11:30 a.m.
