Varsity Girls Soccer Goes 1-1-1 at Petoskey Invitational

The MSHS Varsity Girls Soccer Team (5-1-3) traveled downstate over the weekend (5/7/22) to compete in the Petoskey Invitational.  The team performed well against the quality competition taking part in the event to post a 1-1-1 record on the day.

Game 1:  Marquette 1, Ludington 2 (shootout)

  • Addie Ollila posted the lone goal for MSHS in the closely contested game against the Orioles.

Game 2:  Marquette 4, Muskegon-Oakridge 2

  • The second game of the day saw the Redettes’ offense get rolling with four total goals in the game.
  • Adyson Goodney started off the scoring for MSHS on a goal assisted by Alyson McCarthy.
  • Bella Lorens scored an unassisted goal.
  • Adyson Goodney poured in her second goal of the game from a penalty kick.
  • Hattie Britton closed out the scoring with a goal off of a free kick.

Game 3:  Marquette 3, Harbor Springs 3

  • MSHS rounded out its day with a 3-3 tie against Harbor Springs High School.
  • Bella Lorens had two goals in the game for MSHS with both being assisted by Sydney Osborne.
  • Sydney Osborne then added a goal of her own that was assisted by Bella Lorens.

Next Up:

  • The MSHS Varsity Girls Soccer team will next travel to Houghton on Wednesday, 5/11/22.  Things get started from McAfee Field in Hancock with a 4:00 p.m. JV game, followed by a 6:00 p.m. Varsity contest.
