MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer (9-2-1)

Marquette 3, Sault Ste. Marie 0

The MSHS Varsity Boys Soccer team had their second home game of the week this evening (9/8/22) when they hosted Sault Ste. Marie at the Kaufman Sports Complex.  Marquette won the contest by a final margin of 3-0.

Max Dawson recorded a hat trick for MSHS with one goal in the first half and two tallies in the second stanza.

Dawson’s first half goal was assisted by Ethan Sandstrom and Isaac Johnson. The second goal came off of a corner kick from Ezra Pickard with the third being assisted by Andy Brunswick.

James Barch earned the shutout in goal for MSHS and recorded two saves in the contest.

From MSHS Head Coach, Dan Salmon:

  • “We had really windy conditions tonight and it led to some sloppy play. Definitely not a clean win but we will take it. We still have plenty to work on as we try to get better.”

  • The Varsity Boys Soccer team will head downstate this weekend for a set of games against Traverse City Central (9/10/22; 5:30/7:00 p.m.) and Gaylord (9/11/22; 1:00/2:45 p.m.).
