Varsity Volleyball Again Pushes To Five Sets Before Losing At Houghton, 3-2

Varsity Volleyball (12-9-1; 1-1 Great Northern Conference)

Marquette 2, Houghton 3 (20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 26-28, 14-16)

From Coach Crandell-Williams:

“Another tight, tough loss for us that went down to the wire. We like that we are going the distance with other tough teams, which means a lot of things are going well for us. Our serving was a real strength for night. Houghton played very tough defensively and they made it really hard to get a ball down on them. We are going to keep plugging along and working toward growth and improvement, and stay focused on the road ahead.”

  • Junior Varsity:  Marquette 2, Houghton 0
  • Freshman: Marquette 1, Houghton 2

Next Up:

The MSHS Volleyball teams will be back in action on Thursday, 9/21/23, when they host Escanaba for matches at all three levels.  Start time for the Freshman/JV matches is 5:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity contest at 7:00 p.m.
