BOX SCORE

From Coach Crandell-Williams:

“This was a great way to start the season.  We knew the Sault had played over the weekend and this was our first match of the year, so there’d be some kinks to work out.  Even with dropping a couple of sets, it felt really good the whole night.  It was easy to see that some of the lost points early on were simply nerves, and if we could shake those out we could do it.  I just kept telling them to relax and keep doing what they were doing.  When our girls started to get in sync during those last two sets, it just felt like they were controlling the match.  They served hard, played pretty great defense and made some phenomenal out-of-system plays.  I’m most proud of them for maintaining their mental focus and not getting rattled during such a tight match.  This makes me excited for what’s yet to come.”
